Space 1999 Communications Post
For some reason I woke up early 5:20am last Sunday, So while I was watching the news and having some coffee when I decided to re-try my hand at some paper modeling. I went through my stash of kits I printed out years ago and found something simple to get my feet wet. This is what I found. The Space 1999 Communication Post from the 70s TV series "Space 1999."
Its a very basic kit and should help me blow the dust off.... Pictures #1 and 2 show the actual post on the show |

I printed out several copy's of the kit and wanted to inset and raise the panels but as the process moved forward the main body of the kit started to warp and the folds weren't sharp at all. I ended up scrapping that plan re-printed the kit and built it straight forward. The post is a 1/4 dowel
It was simple but fun Thanks for taking the time to look at my project |

Doesn't look like you had much dust to blow off! Nice work.

To keep it from warping, you can laminate the main panels and then assemble from there.

the website listed in the first picture in the second post, doesn't really exist, currently a "parking page"
using the wayback machine, the original website does come up, but the two versions of the Comm Post are not linked, unfortunately

I remember that show.I still have some episodes on VHS.It's amazing how much Star Trek TNG and Voyager owe to to it.
