WH40K Immolator

I present my Photoshop recolor and build of Eli Patoroch's Immolator. This is an older design (2008), so it's a little simpler than many of his more recent kits, but it still builds up into a really attractive model.

In the Warhammer universe, the Immolator was used exclusively by the Adeptus Sororitas (Sisters of Battle), the military wing of the Ecclesiarchy. Think of them as warrior nuns. Their role is to combat heresy, corruption and any and all enemies of the Imperial Cult. The Immolator is an APC armed with twin heavy flamers (nothing purifies a corrupt soul like fire, even in the 41st millenium).

It's built pretty much "out of the box" with a bit of layering for a little extra pizzazz. I added a decorative arch shaped shield behind the flamer operator. The supporting flying buttresses were an afterthought, but I really like them - adds to the whole religious theme, I think.

Thanks for your kind comments, fellas. I really enjoyed building this one. As always, Patoroch's designs almost assemble themselves.

I appreciate your feedback gents, thank you very much. On Sunday I returned from a week in Texas (Austin), and neglected to check in on the thread - hence the delay in responding to your comment, eatcrow2. After completing two WH40K kits in a row, I'm getting an itch to build some historical armor. I'll be working on it this weekend at the IPMCC in Sterling, Va.
