Front Fins and Docking Bay
Hello all.
@Rhaven Blaack: I like the series very much, because the physic laws are working in the regular way. First some advice for other modelers: Make sure to have the latest version of the PDF with the parts. I started with the first relase and up to the latest release were changes done on design and names of some parts. The front fins are in my case 3mm to long at the rear, so I shorted them, assembled them and glued them in the intake of the fin. The parts for the Docking Bay and the Belly Strip have been assembled together. They are looking a little bit "flat", on reason of my printer does dark areas very dark. So I doubled some parts and got so more 3D impression. Both parts needed the whole place between the engineering section and the front mainbody. Until next, regards Wiwo |

Rearfinn's, TAC's, COMM's, RCS and more
Hi all.
@Rhaven Blaack: Thank you for your friendly and motivating words! Back to the ship. At the rear finns, the gluetabs were oversized. I cut them off and replaced them with an inner former made from 1mm cardstock. The rear finns and finn pods aboard. Next "TAC"on topside. What ever "TAC"stands for. And on both sides "TAC", "COMM" and "RCS". For the parts inside the nose I took only POD A, POD D and POD E. POD B and POD C, I replaced by an own solution. I think, POD F is a false interpretation of an open torpedo tube, seen in the first picture at the release thread of the Morrigan class. The Morrigan class had two torpedo tubes side by side at the nose. I orientet my solution on pictures an plan's you can find on the net. For the long antenna, I took the parts H 16 - H 19 from the MCRN Tachi to cover the toothpick. The short antenna are made from 1mm wire and wraped with the parts from the paper kit. Until next time, see you. Regards, Wiwo |

Great job so far. I, too, noticed the error involving the torpedo bays, and was planning on correcting it on my build. Just got the parts printed out today. Shrunk it to 1/144th.
Also, am I just not seeing the eight "bell fins" -- the rectangular flaps attached to the lower edge of the Epstein Drive's outer nozzle -- or were they omitted from the kit pages? I was planning on scratchbuilding them anyway, but I wondered if my aging eyes just missed them. |

Engine Bell and Flaps
Good day.
@dhanners: Your eyes did not betray you, the flaps are really missing in the kit. Next step, the engine bell. tne parts have been cut out and the disc, connector to the main body was glued to 1mm cardstock and cut out. I turned the inner cone of the engine nozzle upside down, so the narrow end will be at the bottom. All parts glued together and placed at the rear end of the main body. The flaps at the end of the engine bell are missing on the pages with the parts. So I took the dimension from the provided Blender file. Studying line drawings of the Morrigan Class, found on the WWW, I could see there are six flaps, not eight. I createt them with CorelDraw. The prepared flaps have to be placed symetrically on the rear end of the engine bell. Thats all for today. Regards, Wiwo |

Really nice build so far.
Nice work highlighting the possible fixes to the basic design. |

THis is really turning out to be a very beautiful model! I like the flaps that you put on the exhaust bell. It finishes it off nicely. Are you planning on making them available as an "add-on" kit?
