Suspenders for the Engine Bell
Hello guys.
@nikischutt: Thank you. I think thats the sense of buildlogs. Dedect problems and show solutions. @Rhaven Blaack: Thank you. Today only a short update. Here four of eight suspenders for the engine bell. In order to a clock, I glued four of them in following order at 12, 6, 3 and 9 o'clock. The other four suspenders halfway between. Thats all for today. Regards, Wiwo |

PDC-pods and the PDC's
Hi all.
the final is in plain sight. The last major parts to build are the two podests for the PDC's and the PDC's themselves. The podests were a big fight, because the construction is unnecessary complex. The way how Michael Grosberg did it for the Rocinante was much more "userfriendly". But finaly I "did" them. The other parts were no problem because I could look back to the Rocci. The whole stuff a second time and the assembling the parts. The parts RG4 were to long, so the PDC would be placed to high. I shortened the front part by 3mm and the rear part by 4,5mm. I also changed a little bit the arrangement for RG4. Here the PDC's on their place. Thats, for the moment. Maybe I can do today some overal pictures. Regards, Wiwo |

Thanks for the report. Very nice job. Started my build today (only got to work an hour or so) and I have noticed some of the components seem over-engineered, but maybe that's just because I'm building it in 1/144th.

Stand
Hello,
I printed the Parts for the Stand and glued them on 1mm cardstock. Then cut out and assembling as described in the instructions. Well, some surprises were coming up.
Then I made a copy of them and mirrored this new parts to get STAND 2 and STAND 4. I did some additional changes on STAND 1 and STAND 4 for my personal design. You can see the result below. I enclose the redesigned parts for standard assembling to this post. Regards Wiwo Last edited by wiwo1961; 01-14-2020 at 12:10 PM. |

Final Pictures
Hello again.
@dhanners: Sorry forgot you in my previous post. Thank you and good luck on your build! Finally some Pictures of my finished model. A view words to the design. What I liked? The instructions are very good. You get a good model of the Morrigan Class. What I did not like so much were the thick cutting lines. Also the folding lines were in most cases nearly invisible. Gluing tabs were often oversized and sometimes missplaced. Some parts were unnecessary complex to fold, a simpler design would be better. The design is for the second big model from cheesy wotsit realy good, but has room for improvement for the next model. Regards Wiwo |

New stand for the Scipio Africanus
Hi folks.
@dhanners: Thank you! @Rhaven Blaack: Thank you too! Well, I was not so happy with the design of the stand. There was no need for such a complex design. I created a new one, inspired by the music of Johann Strauss, Franz Lehar und Carl-Michael Zierer. It became a "light and easy" design. At least two pictures together with the "Scipio Africanus" Regards Wiwo |
