Cool Thunderbirds 4 - mini sub

On the heals of my completing the Thunderbird 2 and the Firefly models of the old TV series Thunderbirds ( marionette action figures ), here is the next model.

It is TB 4 which is a small submarine that is launched from one of the pods carried by the TB2 large green transporter.

You tube video here of the launch sequence at approx 45 seconds in )
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsJzWKiLyQA

The scale is similar to the Firefly ( I would say 1/30 or 1/25 scale; guessing ). The model also is about 10X larger when compared to the TB2 transporter model.

Here are the links to my other Thunderbirds builds:

All models downloaded here:

TB4 is downloaded here:

These are all attributed to Gary Pilsworth.

As a a summary, all of these models are relatively simple and easy to build by the average builder ( not beginner models though ).
All are fun and quick with minimal details. But you can repaint them and make them look operational if you use airbrushing technique ( which I would not do as I am not at home yet ).

Details soon.

Exclamation Main body

Here it is:
Thunderbirds 4 - mini sub-img_1453.jpg

The main body consist of sections that are open on the bottom with internal frames

I had to add a card stock strip on the bottom opening to minimize the wrinkling and assist in the joining of the bottom sheet later on.

The bottom is added later on.

Question the nose section-too small

Here is the nose section.

It is too small to fit to the rest of the body. I have no clear instructions and don't know if it is me or the part is mis-designed?

I will take care of it later.

Exclamation side pods

The next parts are those bulges, pods, engines etc that are attached to the main body.

Exclamation Bottom

The bottom is a single sheet with integral stabs.

As you can see, I added card stock to the inside of the open sides bottom to allow for a better glue attachment.
Thunderbirds 4 - mini sub-img_1463.jpg

I glued one side using the tab on the inside

however, there is no way for a clean gluing on the other side if the tab is inside. So I decided to have the glue tab on the outside. It will be covered up late anyhow.

Not the easiest of attachments.

here it is so far

I really did not strive for perfection. Just quick fun build.

Smile Dorsal fin

There is a vertical fin on top

I added card stock to the inside and also added a small wood spar to attach to the body itself. Glue it in place.
