Exclamation Windshield / cockpit transparency

here are the many parts that make the curved transparency ( although in this case there is no interior so nothing is transparent.

Kind of industrial looking.

I had to add a small lip on the upper fuselage to mate the parts.

and glued on

I will take care of it later.

Dunno if it helps with the nose section, but on the "real" Thunderbird 4, that front section of the nose in inset. So you'd reverse the yellow part so that it's facing forwards.

Ah, I see it now. I was wondering if that was the case.

But part 5 is still too small to fit inside part 4 nose.

at least I understand it now. The one sketch did not show this to be.

In any case, the model is done, so I cant really fix it now. But this is a good pointer for others that will build it.

Thanks

Isaac

I don't mean to hijack your thread, but if anyone's looking for a much simpler TB4 there's one here:

ƒyƒpƒNƒ‰“Á•Ê•Ò

Explore the rest of this awesome Japanese website, on the link above there's also the UFO Skydiver and a few other recognizable SF models - click on the parts image then save as a GIF file. Click Home on the lower right of the top banner graphic to go up to the main page. Click the other selections to see hako/boxy models of Ultraman, Gundam and more.

Great for kids!

Exclamation Nose

I did not manage to properly research the nose section of this vehicle. In any case, the nose insert part5 is substantially smaller than the receiving part 4. In my attempt to still connect the two without resizing the part 5, I decided to add a cardboard bulkhead and attach part 5 onto it.

As it turned out, Murph pointed out that part 5 is actually residing inside part 4 and I have glued it incorrectly ( point taken ).

However, since this was pointed out to me after the model has been completed, I decided not to correct it and let future builders make this right. ( I wish there was a supplemental sketch that pointed it out ).

Exclamation Plow

Here is the plow that fits in front of the nose. I replaced the paper arms with wood dowels. In addition, since it all looked wrinkled, I added a small wood strip to the inside.

That completes the construction.

Cool Group pics

Here is the Thunderbird 4 with Thunderbird 2 green transporter and the firefighting tracked vehicle Firefly.

Note that there is no common scale here. The yellow vehicles are probably 10-20 times smaller than TB 2 green transport as they fit inside its cargo pod.

I still have a few more TB models to build, but at this point I am stopping that series and will pick it back in the future.

Thanks

Isaac
