I don't know, but blanking it out doesn't seem a problem to me.

Wouldn't you just convert the PDF file to JPG and then use a paint program to erase the lettering?

Its the replacement lettering that stumps me.

I had a copy of a font back in the 90's issues by BitStream (if I recall correctly) that had TOS and Movie, & even Not Get hull font. If I could find them, get the fonts off the floppies onto a drive, then see if they would load onto a newer Mac...

I had both the old System 7 fonts and the Windows version at one time.

But then, even if I could do that, I'd have to figure out how to make the outline in the Movie fonts red instead of black...

A tutorial would be nice in how to paint them...

the name for the right font for Star Trek ships is "NCCINLINE"!

You can get it as example here for free:

https://www.dafontfree.net/freefonts...ne-f135504.htm

I would NOT use paint or gimp to rename the sheets, because it is better to use a vector program! You should better use INKSCAPE, what is also for free, or if you want a professionell program then use CorelDraw or Adobe Illustrator!

To rename a ship in Inkscape is very easy!
1. Import the sheet (better a cleaned without a name)
2. if it is on a saucer, create a circle or a curved line
3. write a text
4. mark both
5. under "text"-folder "put on path" and turn the text a bit
6. under "object"->"fill and stroke" do the circle/curve line invisible

just the red outline of the NCC-Font is a bit harder to do!

here is a little video which should help:

Great tutorial! Thanks for sharing.

Now how do you download a copy of the fonts from the site? Is there a magic word? A rain dance? An Enocian incantation?

;-)

Thanks again, Marko,

BEEEEZAAR!

When I did that, it kept creating a red statement saying the material was not available.

Must not like me...

Thanks!

Now I'll get my Mac to use them and hunt down the Inkscape program you recommended.

This font would cover a lot of eras of Trek vessels!
