Some...depends upon where on the hull. They used different fonts in different places!

On paper I would be more inclined to do peel and stick decals. The way Paramount did it on their starships.

Thanks for sharing them!
I'll see if my mac accepts them. I am hunting for a Mac Sketchup too. I don't think Paramount could make much hay, as it were. CBS is more likely the current agitate, and renaming your own kits for personal use. Can't wait to try out these fonts!

So took a quick break from my MCRN Morrigan build to take a quick look at this. Had a mess around in Inkscape and came up with this. Is this the sort of thing you're looking for? Believe it or not from reference images of the vessel the name and reg number on the top of the saucer are the hardest part. The only other places I can find name decals are the underside of the saucer section and at the rear of each of the nacelles. I used that NCCline font it works fine in Inkscape but does not export at all well to PDF however. |

There should be an open area between the black letter and red outline as shown here:

Hoo boy that could work out to be a pain to sort. I'd need to have a wee think about how to get that effect. Short of drawing each outer edge by hand. Then again the fact that the transparency of the NCC font doesn't export correctly to PDF is a big issue. Quote:
Easy enough to add an A to the end. |

1. Write the text, add a red outline. 2. Duplicate the text, add a white outline. 3. Adjust the size of the white outline so that it is slightly smaller than the red outline. 4. Add another copy of the text without the outline on top. Corel may have a function to do create an offsetted outline, but I'm not sure. If you use a bitmap program like Gimp you could 1. write the text 2. use the select colour tool and click in a black area 3. grow the selection by a bit 4. stroke the selection with a red colour You could also treat the letters separately, make a red (larger version), then a smaller white version on top and last a black version in an even smaller size. |
