Steamrunner Overhaul

So, after looking at some of the various Star Trek models in my fleet, I realized how woefully inadequate my Steamrunner class model's texture is. In addition, while I was very proud of the rework I gave the original file, making it much easier to build, I realized a lot of the parts needed to be approached differently too, different sections needing to be consolidated or split apart to lend the model a better overall shape.

Not done yet, but I figured I'd post a little progress. Here is what I have after about four or five hours (I didn't keep track) of work. As you can see, I'm going after the same look Zoshou uses on his models. I think I'm succeeding so far:

The first one is a potential darker version I might do.

Well the third one is the version that already exists. I put it in there for comparison.

What scale is the other Steamrunner on your site? The other one is 1/1900.

I've been wondering what you'd be doing next. Nice job, can't wait to build it.

I´m also not a big fan of the Steamrunner class, but your retexturing looks good! my favorite is the first!
Question: what is the red part? the impulse engine? If i see the Drex files and the stuff from Ex-Astria i can not see there anything like this!

Thanks for the link, I hadn't seen those yet. Yes, the red part is the impulse engine, which, if you look closely, is on those renders, just not "lit".
