frijj2001 do you know paper-replika snowspeeder model? If not take a look here T-47 Snowspeeder Papercraft

it was inspirational for my own WIP design of snowspeeder to see how Julius Perdana designed it.

Thank you Bigpetr yes I have built his Snowspeeder a few years back with a number of his models, together with UHU plus a few other modellers it gave me the confidence to build my own models

I did start the design stages trying to reduce the size of it as I wanted it the same scale as my x-wing and y-wing but because I wanted to add detail to the cockpit and also an undercarriage with a few other bits I felt I might as well start from scratch. (Mind you, I really enjoy the whole process of collecting image references, building in 3DS Max and the skinning it in Photoshop equally as much as making it in the real world!)

A very quick update.

I managed to spend a number of hours yesterday in Pepakura and we now have it ready and printed so I can start building!

I'll document the build process as much as I can

Stay safe everyone!

Managed to get some modelling time in over the past few evenings and also had today off, sorry in advance, lots of images

First image is taken with the cockpit made.

Next one is where I have created the seat and also coloured the fold lines to blend them in to the print colour.

....and the built cockpit and canopy. For the canopy glass I have used laminate sheets which gives a useable clear glass effect.

I may add a bit more detail to the cockpit layer but for now I am happy how it has turned out

I have started to model the main fuselage as you can see this gives the main shape to the model.

And then the other side...

And then the wing sections...

...and with both wings joined

I thought I would show a 20 pence coin for scale.*The blue sections are guides for some panels and I have cut the canopy so it will stay open.*

Hope you enjoy the update.

I am thinking you mean this vehicle?

Have you a link to his model by any chance or is it in the download section?

I had no plans of making one but will have a think after finishing this one after looking at some image references.
Please make a Sandcrawler! Such an Amazing design and crying out for a good detailed paper model!
