Goauld Hatak

Not an expert papercrafter, just sharing something i'm having fun with at the moment.
I'm working on a goa'uld hat'ak from the stargate universe. Converted a sod model that I used in "star trek armada II fleet operation" into an lwo to modify it in lightwave and then fold open with pepakura. So far it's all going quite well.

Building it on a 1/1400 scale, like the rest of my fleet. Recently build an akira-class and olympic class from star trek, all in 1/1400.
I'm almost halfway done with this one, will be a lot bigger than the starfleet starships.

Hey, fun is what it is all about at its roots!
And may this build be fun.

As a Stargate fan I'll be keeping a close eye on this one.

This is the first model I'm folding open myself, so it's a bit of a test for me. Chose a gamemodel for this because of the low poly count, but hope to eventually build a much more detailed hatak. For now, this is sufficient and will be very cool to see between my star trek models
I almost have the main parts ready, after that just have to connect them and it should be ready. Though i'm a bit worried that the main structure will bend under its own weight, not sure yet how to fix that.

The top parts connected. It's a bit more difficult than expected to put the final parts together.
There's likely a better way to do this, but so far I still manage to put it all together correctly.

I chose a big model as the first to unfold myself because I thought that would make it a bit more easy, but I can't get the final parts to fit together properly.

Will have to rework it a bit. In the meantime I unfolded a very small model, the monsoon class from star trek armada fleet operations (same scale 1/1400). Almost finished without much difficulty.

I'll probably continue with the goauld hatak next week.
