Can you believe, here in South Africa that movie only started showing yesterday?!
Got plans to go see it later today. |

I think Jan Rukr (of aliens paper models) would be the person (if he ever saw the film) to make FULL SIZE replicas of the guns, a 1:148 (1:150) scale model of the exo suit (that awesome powered armor), and a 1:1500 of the mothership.

Well, just saw it.
Best movie of the year so far imo. Of course living not far from Johannesburg might have had an influence on my judgment... LOL There were enough SA-in-jokes to give it just that extra little flavor for us here. Don't want to create a spoiler so I won't mention them... :D The FX was absolutely mind-blowing and flawless. I for one would flip if someone designed a high-detail armor-suit. (Hmmm... Maybe I should look into getting some refs and see if it's do-able...) |

I think the easiest gun from that movie for anyone to make would be that concussion cannon (the first Prawn gun Wikus fires INTENTIONALLY)

I don't know, none of them looked incredibly difficult.
Here are some references for the "Arc Gun": http://www.cgwhat.com/district_9_gun3.jpg http://www.3dbuzz.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=179454 http://www.cgwhat.com/district9gun.jpg http://movieviral.com/2009/08/district-9-gun-on-ebay/ |

well, the splattergun (my nickname for the weapon Wikus carries into the raid on the MNU) had a shat-ton of small parts.

Thats the "arc gun" I posted above. It really doesn't look that bad to me.

It's funny to think that extraterrestrials would have weaponry with grips that resemble gas pump handles

They have hands with opposable thumbs...

my point was that you'd think that their firearms would conform to those of the three-fingered persuasion
