D-Whale's Niagara class.

Hi all, For my next project I'm planning to build D-Whale's Niagara from his W0olf 359 ship set. The engineering on this kit looks fabulous but before I build her I'm tarting up the textures a bit.

Here's what I have so far.

And a big thanks of course to D-Whale for this marvellous model!

Very nice! Are you planning to get Marko's permission and release the repaint?

If it turns out ok then yes. If I do then should I leave it unmarked for people to put their own name and registry number on it?

Really to say: I HATE all the Aztek texture! It is terrible to make on a ship! i see it now on my Maymora class!
But you can make what you want with the Niagara! maybe you should better make the Aztek texture on the Saucer in lines from the Center, not straight! I hope you know what i mean!?!
If it looks good, you have the permission!

In fact you brin me on an idea for Kitbash stuff!

Thank you for giving me your blessing Marko, As for the aztec patterning I agree the TNG era ships do look ugly with it which is why I'm giving this one a TOS metal skin. Ad for a radial grain on the saucer..... I'm working on it! By the way, Where is the impulse engine on this thing??? I can't seem to see any on the 'offical' art either so I think I'll have to take some liberties.

Here is the results of todays toil.

hmm, not so easy to say! I guess the original model has not a impulse engine (also the Freedom Class)! Only the 3D model from Trekmania.net had the engine!
so the impulse engine on the orignal was not visible!

Another small update, here is the rough draft of page 3. As you can see I've taken... a awful lot of freedom with the neck... I've also put a place holder texture on there for the impulse engine with the intention of rigging up something a little more impressive when I actually build her.

Comments and crits are welcome
