Wink starship Galaxia

Hello modelers!

I present here one rare and nice starship, well known for the czech comics fans. But first, the story...

In the Czech republic, in the 70s,80s and early 90s years is very popular magazine called "ABC". The magazine was great for all creative young people - contains great paper models, quality comics, and much informations about nature, technologies, history. And was absolutely non political - that is very rare in the times of communist ocupation.
(In the present is ABC only stupid pulp magazine full of comercialls, every legend die...)

One from the comic stories in ABC is called Galaxia( in years 1984-86 ). The story is about two survivors from the damaged starship Galaxia and his adventures on the unknown planet.

comics first page:

Comics was very popular and Richard Vyskovsky- czech most popular paper model designer, who created more than 1000 paper models! - designed model of the Galaxia starship. But his model is very simple and not so accurate to the ship in comics:

Real accurate version is made by Jan Rükr( creator of all Aliens papercraft ). This is my build :

Model is very big! More than 60 cm long. With great textures, and very nice details - like the damaged nose.
Model is free and can be downloaded here:
ALIENS Papercraft-papírové modely
with ship from another czech comics - Prometheus and many more.

PS: I know what you want to say. Why the ship looks like the old Battlestar Galactica? Because the drawer Frantisek Kobik see some episodes from TOS Galactica, when he was in the England and like the design.

If you want a really BIG and "unknown" starship, get the galaxia. Model is really monumental...

You did a really good job on the model. It looks great.
You are right, it does look like the Galactica. Even the name is similar.

Unless it's a LFL design, then it's a lawsuit waiting to happen. :D
