I use 65 lb cover (cardstock) (~175 gram) for everything that is not paper. The paper parts are on regular office stock. Note that if you are in the US or Canada you will have to re-layout the .pdo as it is arranged for A4 paper size.
I am super pleased with the result. She's nearly together now, hopefully by the end of the week I'll have the main turret done (the sponsons and forward turret are assembled now). |

SO finally got around to starting my own......question about the scale. Is this model in scale with the GW plastic baneblade ? The printout seems smaller than real life....same with the valkyre plans. Am I missing something.
Thanks all, I hope mine comes out as nice. |

can hardly wait for the finished product. I have a Mk IV that I'm chicken to even start to mess with.

The finished model is about 21 cm long and 17 cm wide (to the edge of the sponsons) and has a larger track-base (maybe 20%) than the Land Raider (it is taller as well by the full turret height). I don't have a plastic kit, but it is not fashioned after it anyway, rather the old resin Forgeworld kit.
It is certainly big enough to represent one, even if it is not 100% spot on size. I'm nearly complete mine, just a few elements remaining. I hope to post some pre-touchup pics this weekend. |

Well the beast is now fully assembled, all of the little bits attached and it only awaits touchup painting. I'll post final detailed pics once I'm done, but for now here are some shots of it climbing the pile of scrap paper left behind from its printing.
For scaling reference it is shown escorting a small squad of Adepta Sororitas. All four turrets rotate, although the sponson weapons are fixed in place. I made some slight modification to the small turret rotation element, incorporating a design I used in another tank mod. I don't know that it would have effected much, but I like it better so used it. I also modded spare barrels onto the left trackpod; the clamps were modeled but no barrels. Enjoy! Sean |

What a beautiful Baneblade!
(Too bad it's stuck protecting the Nunz wit' Gunz!:p Couldn't help it, I'm a diehard Guard/Tau fan) All joking aside, it really is a fantastic model. You did a great job. I hope when I get around to doing mine it turns out that well. |

I'm a big Space Marine fan myself; I picked up that squad of Nun's when they first came out. If I had some guardsman I'd show it with them, but I've not picked up a pack yet. With the available paper armour though, I'm seriously considering starting a set. The prohibitive price of the vehicles has always discouraged me from it.
I am very happy with the result, it is one of the best paper models I've assembled (the Snowspeeder from paper-replika tops it, but only just), and looks as good (if not better) than some of my own plastic-kit 40k tanks. Sean Sean |

I agree totally! I've actually never played W40K beyond the "Dawn of War" games, but I've built terrain for a number of players over the years. I've always liked the armor and especially the Forge World models, but.....maybe when I inherit my jillions of dollars from some long-lost uncle or something.
Flare has done a great job on his models though. |

Dawn of War (haven't played the second one yet) certainly is a great equalizer in that way. Playing that in fact resparked my interest in the Guard.
I may delay touching the Baneblade up until I've assembled a LeMan Russ, or at least until I'm painting a squad up. Sean |
