the Firefly project

Hello everyone.

It's been quite a long time since I started with this project, but there was nothing worth posting... until now .

So, here's how it was.

First I tried Jorge García's Serenity kit, but it had some glitches I was unable to go with. After an attempted redraw, I ended here:

Dead end, so I started to create a new model from scratch, in 1/72 scale (yes, I know about Armorbimbo's kit, but it lacks the detail level I'd like to have):

This is going to be a very long march, so I did a little branch to the shuttles:

And finally, the LS-7 shuttle kit is ready:

(for scale: these are two A4s)

This is a direct link to the full, textured kit with assembly instructions and everything, here are the untextured parts. And this is my website where the files come from and where you find more accompanying text and images than here.
The kit is in BMP, so you shouldn't have any trouble rescaling the print (1/72 Firefly is really big), editing the textures or whatever.

So enjoy the build, I'm going back to sculpting the ship . As soon as something downloadable emerges or any interesting pictures appear, I'll share it.

Keep flying!

Nice.

Just watched the film the other day, never thought I would like it, but it's actually really good. Got to get the TV series now.

Wow! Awesome work. These are some of the most comprehensive instructions I've ever seen. I'll definitely add this to the build pile. Thanks!

I remember watching initially a few episodes and just couldn't get with the idea. When the movie came out it answered so many questions I had about the TV Series that now I liked it and wish the series was still on.

Superb work! This one ranks just below penguins on the "build it for she who's beginning to wonder about this paper-modelling obsession."
