Another DS9

In between my main projects, I decided to begin designing a model I've been planning for a long time.
I think it's a safe bet I don't have to say what it is... :D
From my track record with previous project release dates, I can't give a due date, but I'll keep everyone updated on my progress.

Awesome! I had been itchin' for a DS9 build and was contemplating re-texturing Ninjatoes' model. Let me know if you need betabuild help.

Sorry Mchale, I think it will be much more intricate.

I like Ninjatoes' DS9, Cmags I also contemplated digitizing it's textures but personally wanted something with a little more oomph.

This one is intended to be rather large DesignR, as soon as I begin the unfolding process and see where all the details I'm adding will take me scale-wise, I'll definitely come knocking on the experts' doors here to determine a final scale.

As I'm writing this a horrid idea crept into my thoughts... So many models are in 1:1700 already................

@TC: Yikes, at 1:1700, the 1452m diameter station would come out at 85cm long. Pretty big. I would love to see that much detail but I know that I would never build it. I don't think I could fathom anything larger than a 1:5000 scale station, measuring in at around 29cm wide.

@McHale: There are already a number of Defiant models available - including Ninjatoes' and various repaints, and Zosho's. Easy to rescale and match to the station. Runabouts on the otherhand, would be hell to make so small. :p

I know also these length, but i guess it is wrong! I would more agree with the reference size from Ex-astris and with the old AMT/ertl model (i have the plastic model)! The scale of these model is 1/2500 and the diameter is 40cm, which means that the "real" diameter is only approx. 1000 meters! I believe also, that the original model from the series had a diameter of 4 meters!?
So in scale 1/1700 is the diameter of the station only 58,8 cm!
