Star Trek Work Bee ... again

Hi, my thread about "Work Bee" was deleted in forum crash. I found thread backup on my mail and I show photo and upload model once again:

I show my last work: Star Trek Work Bee. Originally 3D model I downloaded from google 3dwarehouse link (Star Trek - Workbee by TaffGoch - Google 3D Warehouse) and unfolded by google sketchup. Model was built at 1/33 scale.

Forum user Jubotron2060 ask:

Hi Bonq
Would you please describe the unfolding process in sketchup?
and answer:

Quote:
To unfold model I use sketchup with unfold tool plugin (SketchUp [Plugins] Blog: Plugin: Unfold Tool).
First I separate model to segments (If parts is to complicated I redraw to simply version easier to unfold).

Second I unfold each segment.

Third. I position all parts on the same surface.

Next I export skp file to e.g. dxf and edit in Corel Draw. On this site (Converting Sketchup Models to 3DS) is explain how.

(I hope you understand what I wrote, my english not to well:/)

Having a keen interest in Star Trek, this model is what got me into the community. Thanks for doing such a nice job on this little craft... one of my Trek favorites.

Any more on the horizon?

Thumbs up Star Trek Workbee - SketchUp

Nice job, bonq!

It's gratifying to see my SketchUp virtual model in the "real" world.

I might try my hand at unfolding & printing, at a larger scale. (You are commended for having such dextrous fingers, at that scale.)

Have you considered using tinted transparent film for the windows?

How did you do the "greebles" on the engine pod, and underneath? Are those paper constructs, as well?

Again, well done,
-Taff
