So with being really busy at work with the upcoming World Cup, I've had very little time to model. But I've squeezed a bit of time. Now the majority of the model is finished. So im gonna start importing to Pepakura and start folding ASAP

I was wondering, according to the dimensions of the ship its 283m in "fictional reality". So do you reckon its up till the end of the head of the ship or the extended antenna.
Cause i think it was 1:470 where the ship would be around 51cm long. I quite like that length. But open to suggestions. |

1/470 would go nicely with Jan Rukr's Sulaco but a scale of 1/350 would still be livable and in scale with a far larger range of models...
So far as measuring the length is concerned, I think Jan included the antennae at the bow of Sulaco in its length measurement...

Ok then the scale of 1:470 would be smaller. Im worried if I make the scale 1:350 that the parts wont fit comfortably on A4 paper. I want this to be a community model, and not many people have A3 printers or access to them. Ill investigate quickly.
Thanks for the help SJPONeill |

Only to happy to help anyone designing models...
I think that most modelers would have access to A3 printing e.g. Kinkos etc...even though we live 100km or so from civilisation (any place with two or more fast food franchises!), I wouldn't count it a biggie to have to get it printed commercially if it was on A3...ultimately though, it's your model and your call...

I agree with SJPONeill, but I feel I should add that you shouldn't be afraid to split a large piece so it can fit on more than one A4 either. Try it, if you don't like it, just undo. :D

I kinda like the idea of 1/350 myself. It would be nice to sit the Sulaco and the Nostromo side by side for a size comparison. But I would build it in any scale that you see fit.

Also because there a quite a bit of parts i think it will be more organised on A3, with less clutter. |

Oooops...I was just looking at Jan's Sulca design thread and the scale of his Sulaco is 1/430 NOT 1/470 as I stated previously...
