Imperial Navy Watercrafts
In continuation of the LCP (Landing Craft Personnel). Here is the section on the fuel cells. I decided to have them on the outside on both sides of the Aft section. I used a GW fuel cell as a reference with the help of a AA battery. I constructed the Platform section for the fuel cells and painted them slate grey.

Now to work on the cargo hold, but first drill the holes for the fuel lines later on in the build. The side access panel and the engine access covers are placed. The cargo deck will be glued in place in this thread but you have the option of making copies and construct multiple cargo configurations and sliding them into the cargo hold. You can make it all troops, Supplies only, Small vehicles or a combination of anything that will fit in the cargo hold.

Here are a few teaser photos of the plans. It stands at six pages and I am still adding more details to the sheets. The plans will be in three versions, line art, solid colors and color shaded. Be patient, the plans are in the works.

Quote:
Drop pods are for the Space Marines. As mentioned at the beginning of this thread. There has to be some worlds with large bodies of water, and while there are skimmers and other air assets. The Watercrafts can navigate the rivers and they can also be made into mobile weapons platforms for support of Imperial troops close to water ways. The payload for supplies are also bigger than a drop pod. The Imperium uses whatever assets it can. While the Imperials have a navy, it is mostly big space hulks to transport troops through the warp. Since it is designated as the navy, why not ships for the oceans. Besides, it is a good excuse to go out on patrol for those pesky Orky Boyz and do some fishing as well. |

Ohhhhhhh.... the conversion ideas! An entire chapter of Aquamarines! Wait, no, that's a color. SEA Marines. Ummm... how about just marines? Anyway, you get the idea: Swimmers. Subs, subfighters a la Seaquest, or Bill Keith's Sharuq and Stingray novels. Hydro-titans, seahorse riders, jetboats, battleships, carriers, submerged bases, mutated sea eldar, a whole new sept of Tau, fishy orks, maybe even some Lizardmen leftover from the Warhammer days.....
Now how'm I supposed to sleep tonight what all that going through my head?!? |

Imperial Navy Watercrafts
I was not thinking of the new races but it does bring up a new world for expansions. Again, this craft can also be used for Necromunda game play as well, it is not restricted to Warhammer40.
And now, for more updates on the landing craft. Made the fuel lines from paper clips bent to the needed shape. The fuel sensor lines are from sewing thread and attached from the fuel cells to the junction box at the back of the pilot house. The deck tie down D-Rings are made from thin wire. And finally, the deck is in place. So much for now, see you all in the forums. |

This update is on the exhaust section. The fuel lines are covered by the Junction box. In this Beta build, I left the Q-tip inside the rolled strip but it would look better if you wrapped it around a micro screwdriver and took it out. The exhaust funnel would be hollow and more realistic. The parts are colored in.

AMAZING, just simply AMAZING!!! Excuse the pun, but your work is (as always) a cut above the rest. You are doing an absolutely OUTSTANDING job on this.
