I've read about that. I've just mentioned the movie for the sake of completeness.

I know a bit about Perry Rhodan because in the 1980s a schoolmate lended me the first issues of this silver book anthology.
I remember something about a moon landing when the "first contact" with humanoid aliens leaded by a very attractive but arrogant lady happened. The arrogent lady later got less arrogant and Rhodan's wife. :D And he had to take a kind of "shower" at a certain place in the universe from time to time to get immortal. Right?

I can't even say why but at that time the storyline and the characters were not captivating enough to me so I stopped reading it at some point. Maybe I should give it a second chance.

Yes, the "cellular shower". Meanwhile the relatively immortals wear a device called "cellular activator" that stops aging, helps to heal wounds and helps against sickness and poison. They can die because of brute force, so they are only "relatively immortal".

The series last for 50 years (!) next year (with a great celebration, the "Worldcon 2011", in Mannheim, Germany)week by week without a single break, so it can`t be that bad...

So yes, maybe you should give it a second try.

At the moment not. There were several attempts to establish PR in the USA, but never successfull.
