TOR.com Stubby Rocket Complete

Ok I'm a sucker for tin toys and vintage looking rockets so when I saw this the other day I had to build one. Plus it was only one page so how could I refuse.

My completed version of the TOR.com stubby rocket. This is one sweet papercraft. A bit of a challenge, but man is it awesome. I might make a couple more, a moon, and some stars and have a killer mobile.

You can download the pattern and instructions at:
Tor.com / Science fiction and fantasy / Blog posts / Build your own Stubby paper rocket!

Thanks for the planet links. I'll have a whole little solar system soon.

It looks like since most of the lines and main parts are white I can really easily get away with tweaking the hue\saturation to get other colors pretty quickly. just a touch up on the ports and windows would be needed.

It wasn't that bad of a build either. The hardest part in my opinion was the little piece that transitions the main body down to the rockets. You have to kep that square to the body while the other two pieces come in at angles, and the piece is tiny. Rest was smooth sailing.

Looks like fun. Rather Flash Gordon-ish. Just put a sparkler in the back end and swing it around on a string; it'll look just like the 30's serial rocket ships. :D
