New Perry Rhodan papermodel starting this week

Hi all,

I can proudly announce that a new papermodel will be in the upcoming next three german weekly "Perry Rhodan" novels, once again a teamwork from me and the gifted german designer Martin Sänger, who constructed it. The numbers of the novels are 2557 (in the shops at August 20th, 2010), 2558 and 2559.

It is a classic Battle-Robot called "Gladiator R1" in 1:12 scale, and this is how he will look when built:

The model has 191 parts. It is not an easy build, but worth the effort, I`ld say. :)

Oh, yes, way cool!! I've never seen the Perry Rhodan series, just the models that come from it but they rock...!

Perry Rhodan is nothing to see, it is a weekly novel series. You have to read them... :)

But it is cool to hear that you like the models!

Well, not as difficult as you may think:

This one, called "OLD MAN", from the early years of the series, is available seperately at the website of the "Perry Rhodan Fan Zentrale": Versandantiquariat Achim Havemann - Spaceshop Seite 1 as are several other Perry Rhodan papermodels.

Here is another example, the first model that found its way into the weekly novels:

Correction:
In fact, there IS something to see. ;) Have a look at the 1967's movie "Mission Stardust" ("S.O.S. aus dem Weltall"):

Mission Stardust - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Perry Rhodan - Wikipedia (german)

Seems to be a very crappy piece of celluloid so there's still no DVD release. :D:D:D

It originally was intended to base on the first three novels but the final story has not much in common with them because the screenwriter was specialized on B-Movie crime thrillers. So Perry Rhodan turned into a kind of space commissioner hunting some space gangsters. :)

I've never been a reader of the Perry Rhodan novels so I don't know if the ships in the movie are authentically.

Well... the normal Perry Rhodan Fan denies the existence of this... "piece".

Forget it. It has as much to do with Perry Rhodan as a Ford model T with the starship Enterprise...
