Flying house (Carl house) – UP movie

Introduction

There is always a reason to make a model rather than another.
In this case the choice to fall on Carl's house from Up movie, has to do fundamentally with I really enjoyed the film and also because the color of the house being derived from animation film with colorful and very strong colors, keeps this characteristic with walls painted in different colors.

Surely all know them but I can not resist to leave here the most striking images of the characters.

This chubby Scout (certainly due to excessive doses of burgers and their companions) has, for me, the most well done facial expressions of animation film.

The old and stubborn Carl, prepared by all means not to let his house be destroyed by inexorable advance of cement bunks construction.

Duc the dog also a traveler in flying house and Kevin the rare bird with a fabulous color.

Clip movie where Carl meet Russel.

(I can't insert the Youtube functionality at work!) Because that, here is the link

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XubM6...layer_embedded

The model

On Paper Replika site is available a model of the Carl flying house. But as for me, with little detail because almost everything is printed, and there are few parts (60). Other than it is the colors are too soft, just living for my taste.

In a blog someone made one with a more complete but does not provide the drawings. So I had to get to work and do everything again from CorelDraw.

What modified:
- have redrawn all over again;
- Reducing the scale;
- I changed all the colors;
- Significantly increased the number of pieces detailing theindividual boards of the walls, the rows of tiles on the roofs,windows, doors and other elements.

Features:

Parts: For now I'm in 811
Length: 81mm
Width: 98.5 mm
Height: 100mm ±
Leaves of pieces: 8
Format: A4

There are certainly some corrections to make in one or another piece but only the assembly will tell.
I did not make a first impression in black and white to test but I‘m thinking then, with all OK, do a version in black and white to assemble and paint.

Some drawings

The first piece that go out of leaves was the ground to allow confirming the measurements of the various walls that make up the Carl house.

Now I build all the walls and then paste them to the ground and each other.

The first, which corresponds to the left side of the house.
Pasted the parts that make up the two windows and the next is the frame of the footer.

Then all boards will be glued . From bottom to top in order to gradually overlapping.

Half or more already.

And the first wall is finished.

Thats great! my wife (and I ) love this movie. I built the house from Paper-replika and like you said it is simple, and the colors are just not bright like they should be. Please tell me you are going to put your new (and much better ) version out there for others to build...i would build it for sure, and I know my wife would love it!!....Rich

Thanks Jerry and richkat.

richkat > Yes, I go put my version out for others build. But not in download section because some people in net sell models that don’t are made to sell but to free distribution.
Because that some modelers, today, don’t offers their models.

When I finish assembly, with everything correct, I send the files for who are interested. Send me your email and at final I would be happy to send you the pdf files.

I sent you a PM with my address.
