Sagrada Familia

My other half built this model some years ago and it surely merits the light of day:

Your better half did a wonderful job on a great subject. It looks just like it.

I built the Domus kit model of Sagrada Familia in 2009 and then went to Barcelonia to see it. Have you and your wife been there? I took close up photos of the model and compared them with the "real thing". It was amazing. One of my goals in life is to go back when it is finished. They say another 20 years - that will make me 93. I hope I make it.

Have a look at my web page www.cathedralquest.com and see my model plus look for Barcelona under Spain 2009. We were in Barcelona twice on the same trip and visited Sagrada Familia both times and have photos and descriptions.

Cathedrals

Hello Thomas,

Thanks for your response. I've spent a bit of time on your website and plan to spend a bit more. As a matter of interest, is the Sacre Coeur postcard model from L'Instant Durable?

Europe is in deep financial crisis just now and all our economies are on the verge of collapse. I fear you may have to live far beyond the age of 93 in order to see the Sagrada Familia finished. It's a terrible shame but not the end of the world. We do still have Gaudi's completed works to enjoy.

Hi Philip,

Good to hear from you. I appreciate your looking at my website. Yes, Sacre Coeur is a L'Instant Durable postcard model. I have done several post card models.

Maybe I'll live longer than 93 and still be making paper models. We enjoyed seeing the other Gaudi buildings in Barcelonia.

The better half speaks

Hello Thomas,

Glad you liked my model of Sagrada Familia. It was a pig to make and I never made another paper model after that one! I thought your one was stunning. Your website of cathedrals is terrific. I found it most interesting as my great love is architecture.

Best wishes,

Sue

You really do have a tralented other half; mine can't understand why I spend time messing about with bits of cardboard, but "anything if it keeps you happy"!

Hello Sue (and Philp)

Thanks for writing and the nice things that you said about my model and my web page. Don't give up making models, they are so much fun and so relaxing.....and ADDICTIVE! I spend time everyday working on a model. I haven't turned on a power tool (my first love) in several months, but have worn out several exacto blades in that time.

I would like to know more about your model and how you made it. Have you been to Sagrada Familia?

Philp- thanks for the private mail. I have something exciting to look forward to Thank you!

Thomas
