Beautifully done!

I built L'Instant Durable's Chenonceau for my parents about 20 years ago and I have a partially completed Mont St.-Michelle. Both kits are very well designed and build into impressive display models.

I am so glad you like my models of Durable.

If possible, I also visit the buildings, which I already once have built
as cardboard models.

In 2010 my wife and I trevelled through Burgundy in France.
In 2011 we visited to the chateaus at the Loire.

I find it interesting to compare original and model.

Fore that I would like to show a few pictures.

With friendly regards

A. Pirling

It's fun seeing your models next to the real thing. They stand up well to comparison. I especially like Chenonceau, right on the water like that. In my part of the world such a place would be a haven for mosquitoes.

Thanks again for sharing your wonderful models. I loved the photos of the "real thing" next to the models. As I have said before I build the models and then go visit. I will soon see your models (and mine) in Southern France.

A question - where are the last three photos on your latest thread? You list it as an ID model but I don't see it on their page. This looks like a place that I want to visit and build the model.

Hello, Thomas!
Allow me to answer this one?!
These pictures are of the LID model Château de Haut Koenigsbourg en Alsace (die Hochkönigsburg im Elsaß), scale 1/400. The original castle was built in the 12th century, then rebuilt and enlarged in the 15th-16th century, later destroyed and fell into decay.
But after the reconquest of Alsace by Germany (1870/71) the ruin was presented to Kaiser Wilhelm II. in 1908, who ordered it to be reconstructed by the Architect Bodo Ebhardt.
It is one of the most spectacular castles and certainly worthwile visiting, overlooking the upper rhine valley and watching the Alsatian (pun intended) wine road. Been there, drank that, bought the model...
Kind regards,-
Papercaptain
