Yes, I hadn't thought of magnets, thanks.

Your model is coming along really well. Very impressive work. Magnets is a great idea. An alternative could be short metal rods of 1mm diameter or so that would protrude from the base and pierce the soft center portion of the foam board.

That idea of rods has given me an idea of using rods at each corner of the building to stop it moving sideways, and then a rotating rod with a cam on the end to lock the building down. This could be rotated from underneath.

Another couple of hours this evening saw another window finished. It's been a few months since I've done any work and my first attempt yesterday had to be discarded, but this one has come out fairly well.

The four sides leant together and ready to be glued together.

Very neat and precise. Will you be doing any painting, or is your plan to leave it as a white model? It'll be eyecatching either way.

It's going to be left white Don, I think this is a standard architectural way to highlight the structure better. It certainly is a lovely building, and the model looks even better than I imagined to be honest. I glued the four sides together tonight, trying to get it all square, which is a big step towards finishing the model. Tomorrow I will reinforce it inside to give it a bit more strength and stability and then turn my thoughts to the other building that accompanies it, which will be slightly easier (I hope!).

I have never used any foamboard in a project but after seeing your great results I will have to use some for sure ! Great work ! Looks fantastic !

It's the first time I've used it but I've found it to be quite easy to work with. It can be glued with PVA, cut with a sharp knife and seems very stable and strong so it's good for constructional work.

This is a beautiful piece of work :-) Hard to believe, looking at the pictures, that this is a model - it looks like a really sharp and precise computer rendering! (I hope you take that as the compliment it's meant to be....) Exquisite :-)
