First of all, Thank you for a very nice gift. Second of all, what a beautiful and detailed structure.
I don't usually build any sort of structures but this one caught my eye and is really cool. I will buld it without a doubt.
Thanks again.

Gift

Thank you very much for such a detailed model with the excellent graphics. It was a pleasant surprise to see your Christmas gift to the group. Glad to see you are still dabbling in paper models as I am familiar with your work.

Age is creeping on me and the eyes aren't what they used to be plus unsteady hands have curtailed my paper modeling, but I have downloaded your gift and I hope I can build it in "V" scale for TrainSim. So, it is not only a gift but also a stimulus to try and build again. THANKS MUCH! John

Work in progress

This kit is such an interesting subject and has great textures that I will do my best to do it justice. I apologize in advance for building a cyber model from a card model and if it is out of place here please let me know. I have reached this point in assembly of the Barber Shop. John

Thanks again everyone and thanks John W for the interesting article, very cool to read the history of the area.

Johnflys2: no need to apologize. Great start on the virtual Barbershop. I can't wait to see it finished. What software are you building it in?

George,

Thank you for the wonderful Christmas present.

The model is a favorite of mine from your series of models. The tar paper siding, and tin roof really give it a lot of character. but what really shines is your use of textures and graphics to give the model a realistic appearance.

I have attached a photo of the building from the Randsburg website.

George, to answer your question, I am using Traim Sim Modeler to build the barber shop. In the past I have converted many of Clever Models kits and with their permission, have shared with the Train Sim community. I'll gladly post a screen shot of the building when completed. John

Randsburg Kitbash

I never could pass up a good kitbash. Here's the Randsburg Barbershop metamorphosed into a run-down shed for my HO-scale shortline. It's all paper. My hat is off to Paper Creek for a fine kit.

A Merry and Blessed Christmas to all.

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given . . .
And His name shall be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Soli Deo Gloria!
