Dirty Dog Saloon...

Wanted to do this little gem as a gift for a friend. From "PaperMau"..
Papermau: The Dirty Dog Saloon Vignette Paper Model For Mini Figuresby Papermau - Download Now!

Also trying out "Imgur" for photos, instead of Photobucket.

Two pages of parts..

As I want to add some strength and weight to the base, I'm framing the bottom sides with some scrap material. Also scoring in between the floor planks for more detail.

Thanks.. should be a pretty quick build if I don't screw it up by over engineering..

Finishing the base. added the bottom, and then cut a small flap so I'm able to fill with sand.. close the flap and seal the edges with a smear of glue.. held in place with some weight.. when dry, glue to a bottom piece of colored card cut to shape. Ending up with a nice squared rigid piece.

Using "Imgur" for photos once I figured it out is fast and easy. Better then the Photobucket account that I was using.

It is a nice kit. Perfect for jump starting building again, after not doing much at all..

Here I've doubled some of the parts.. the sign.. door trim.. parts of the swinging saloon doors.

Wood framing for the door jam..

Cut out the wall, and did scoring between planks. More noticeable, then is showing in the photo..

That sign looks as if you borrowed it right from the building!

Little overboard on the nail holes, but I like the look..

Well it's done.. Everything fit perfectly. Hard to go wrong on this quickie, and mucho thanks to "PaperMau" for making it available.

Touch ups and edge coloring done with pastel chalks or pencils.. a couple of light coats of Future sprayed to seal and blend in the colors.

Also printed out the cube from the Chinese Cardmodelers site.. Nice getting the different ones from other forums..

Peter,

You always build such unusual interesting models (even in plastic) and I don't think the sign is over done it fits the model well. Another well done model.

Many thanks Jim!! Always a pleasure hearing from one of the gurus of the So. Cal cardmodeling scene. Looking forward to seeing some work from the rest of you??

Modeling and internet might be put into a holding pattern for a bit, as it looks as if I'm due for a reformat if issues are not resolved.. Debating on going ahead with the Win 10 beta, to see how it looks. Can always go back to 7. Cloud backup on all files, so nothing lost other then time.
Cheers..
