Basilica di Sant'Ambrogio
Hi all
After my last effort (see my previous posting on Notre Dame) and being enthused for having completed quite a 'difficult' model, I searched out, as it happens, another Domus pre-cut kit. This time I wanted something relatively simple and which I could complete within a week. So here it is : Basilica di Sant'Ambrogio in Milan. This one took about 15 hours and was real fun. A few adjustments, a lot of head-scratching around the fit of certain parts and a lot of Internet searching to find pictures (Cooliris came up with the goods). I know I'm ducking the 'beast' - a half-finished model of HMV's Seatrout - but it is really good for the soul to have another finished model on your table. Happy modelling out there. |

That looks really great. I've been anxious to get into some architectural models and after I saw your pictures of Notre Dame I bought it and another Domus model from a great book seller on eBay. In reading your post I missed the fact that they were pre-cut, so I was pretty surprised when I saw that. But nevertheless I'm looking forward to building it.

Don't let that put you off - you'll still be cutting! Have a read of Mike Stamper's post if you haven't already seen it - good advice.
I recommend you check out AbeBooks. com. There's more. Good luck. |

Though not a fan of pre-cut models, (I know how difficult it is to cut within a kerf) I really like this one!
