The Bread House is looking very royal indeed Fred. Any idea why it's called The Bread House? The name certainly implies a story and I've been too busy (OK, lazy) to look it up for myself.

Thanks David.

Elliott, from what I can gather, the dutch name is "broodhuis" or Bread House and it was called that because the bread market was originally on this site. Even though it's called the King's House, no king ever lived here. It seems proclamations from the King were read from the balcony.

If anyone has more information, please let us know. It always makes the model come alive.

Fred

Just tuning in. Elaborate project in the making but once finished certainly a wonderful eyecatcher. The centre of Brussels is a nice place to be, also on a 1:303 scale!

Keep up the good work,
Erik

Finished the Bread House over the weekend.

The photos show the main spire construction and the other parts to finish off the roof (different dormers and chimneys).

Two photos of the finished sections in place.

The last photo is of the parts sheets for the next section, also a large building known as the former Meat Halls.
