Four sided farm house 1/160 • Richard Vyškovský - abc & Erkotyp 2009
Three close-up views of stair and balcony.
It is essential to observe the distance between the lens and the model. If the distance is too short, all the halftone dots of the printing will be reproduced. (The abutments - still missing - under the eaves will be made of a wooden strip sized 2 × 2 × 10 mm) |

Four sided farm house 1/160 • Richard Vyškovský - abc & Erkotyp 2009
The 2nd building - named »storage« - follows the same assembly
principles the first building benefits from. The usage of 1.00 mm cardboard proves to be very helpful. The 1-Euro-cent coin gives an impression that the model is rather small indeed .... |

Hi Thomas,
nice to see your 'inner construction' of the houses. Looks like a lot of work, but the result is convincing. Regards Dieter |

Hello Thomas,
Do you usually add that amount of structure? It is of the kind that I like, as it will be hidden from view. I am wary of making the assemblies stiff in the early construction stages, as it makes adjustments (if needed) hard to achieve. |

Hello Ricardo,
.... hhmmmmm .... maybe I find it more convenient to glue recessed windows INTO something instead of glueing from behind. Also this 1.00 mm cardboard adds a certain static stability to the single buildings (in this case). Anyway: it requires some CAD efforts to achieve a perfect alignment of the cardboard parts to the printed walls ... :-). Also I agree: Later adjustments may cause a kind of difficulty ... but the precise basic Vyškovský design keeps this apprehension limitetd :-) Not to forget - and to point it out clearly: THIS is NO shortcoming of this kit - the material is thinner than usual, only 135 g/sqm appr. |

Thomas,
I also very much appreciate Mr. Vyskosky’s works. Usually, the fit is just fine. However, on more complex models with sequenced assemblies, minor errors in printing or assembly can add up. It happens quite often on scenery parts around castles. I had to make many adjustments on Tocník and Lichnice. Probably, your assembly method helps to limit problems that (I agree!) are not related to the kit’s quality. |
