Four sided farm house 1/160 • Richard Vyškovský - abc & Erkotyp 2009

... after the recently assembled tiny Vyškovský models it is time for a model
showing a farmstead constisting of more than one sheet. :-)
The chosen item is a Vyškovský design published as shown here in 2009 for
the first time.
More than 20 years before, the first part of the ensemble showing the decorative
gable and the entrance was published in the abc-magazine. On the occasion
of the Vyškovský exhibition in 2009 displayed at the »Karlsmuseum« in Prague
the missing houses were added to the kit and the so far completed model
was then published within the exhibition catalogue exclusively ...

The exhibition mentioned showed the complete work of Richard Vyškovský,
only few exceptions were missing. Richard's output over the last 40 years
was indeed very impressing. My personal thoughts I brought home from
this event were: It IS a pity that more then 50 % of his work is NOT
available commercially at present and secondly that his strengths are explicit with
architectual and technical matters ... :-)

The model introduced here shows an 18th century, lately restored four-sided farm house
participating the historic center of Trebiz/Czech Republic and is the home of the
local nature sience museum. The village is located 43 kilometers (26.7 NM)
northwest from Prague and 88 kilometers (54.7 NM) east from Karlsbad
(Karlovy Vary).

It may be interesting to know. that this farmstead is a filming location for the
telenovela »The first Republic« produced and aired by Czech Televison.

Very nice. Looks like you could fortify the place to help defend against invaders.

Another nice build -

I've always wondered about your "spotlwss" builds --- How long would something like this take to make?

Cheers

Mike.

ps. I'm just about to start on a new model - you may recognise it when it's finished.

Mike.
Mike, I've just started the assembly on Monday, only a few first pictures
were taken. At present I have definitely no idea how long this ensemble will
take.
Sometimes I'm posting step-by-step according to the progress of the assembly,
sometimes not before the certain model is completed. The latter results in postings
without "breaks" ... I really have no idea what is more convenient for the
reader. :-)

Four sided farm house 1/160 • Richard Vyškovský - abc & Erkotyp 2009

Assembly starts with the first longitudinal wall of the first building.
(Yes, this is going to be one of these step-by-step assembly reports -
the complexity of this design is worth the effort)

The quality of the cardboard used for this certain cardmodel is
excellent - at least a bit thin from my personal point of view.
Therefore I've decided to reinfore the wall(s) with 1.00 mm cardboard.
This supplies additionally the advantage to make it possible to add all
the recessed windows an doors from the »frontside« ... what indeed is
really comfortable.

The picture shows the first longitudinal wall together with the gable and most parts
of the entrance. It is impressing how all the interpenetrations are designed.
As with many cardmodels by Richard Vyškovský the numbers attached to the
parts indicate the sequence of assembly only approximately. More important
is the complete understanding of the assembly sketches because these make
any verbal instruction unnecessary.

The »walls« of the first »building« are closed. Inspite the opposite longitudinal
does not contain any »holes« it is also reinforced with 1.00 mm cardboard.

To ensure maximum stability for further handling of the model I've created
a scratch roof timbering ... (completely made from 1.00 mm cardboard)

... two alternative angles of view. Balcony, stairs and roof are
assembled separately and will be attached later ...
