Made a small start today with the Central tower. The size of this alone is half of Peterborough's West Front model form, gonna be a large build I think!

Tonight's progress with the frame of the choir complete. Bit tricky getting the frame level with each side at first.

Hi Ben, how much more have you done on York Minster in the last few days? I am anxious to see your finished model. I have the same model, but have not built it yet. I do think that Rupert has magnificent kits. I think that I have all of his models- the older versions.

We loved York Minster. We visited there in 2013. Just today, I finished writing about our visit and published it to my webpage – CATHEDRAL QUEST: our quest to experience cathedrals in Europe. The page about York is CATHEDRAL QUEST: our quest to experience cathedrals in Europe. Please, have a look. We spent three nights in York, going to Durham and back on the second day.

I note from your profile that you live in Peterborough. We had a wonderful visit in Peterborough as the guests of the Dean of the Cathedral on 12th day of our trip. I will be writing about it soon. I have made the model which can be seen on my webpage under church models – England.

Great start to this major project.

We visited York Minister in 1979. It was enormously impressive. I do not now how much was lost in the fire, but in Thomas's images it is as beautiful as we remember it.

Thanks Tom, well with working nights and being busy not had much chance to build more but have done the transepts and choir. Comparing it to the Peterborough model by Rupert it is huge. Think it will be awhile before the finished product in unveiled, but I'm happy with that since a longer build means more attention to deatail since I wanna make this one as perfect as can be.

Thanks Don, if your referring to the 84 fire think just the roof was lost. You can visit my Flickr page with a link on my profile, I have an album to do with the Minster with some info on each photo.

Yikes Ben, I thought Peterborough was huge but York looks overwhelming.
Looking good.
