Tell me: are you colouring the model or is it just a trick of the light making the tint of the card look richer?

Rupert,

No coloring except I will do the roofs as you suggested with brown. Because my photographic skills are poor...I often change the contrast and saturation (to enhance my photo) which does modify your original coloring.

Otherwise, sometimes the detail is hard to see.

Mike, you are doing a wonderful job on Tewkesbury Abbey. In 2013, I built Rupert's older model of Tewkesbury. You can see my model on the thread that I started on November 5, 2013 (cathedralquest 2013-Tewkesbury or on my webpage – CATHEDRAL QUEST: our quest to experience cathedrals in Europe under Cathedral models England.

I built the model before going to visit the church. The model inspired us to go to Tewkesbury in order to visit this lovely church in person. Have you been there? It is well worth a visit.

I hope in the next week to add our visit to Tewkesbury to my webpage on our visit to UK in 2013. I am still writing on that trip. I am up to day 13. Our visit to Tewkesbury was on day 15. I have been so involved in the building of the model of Mozquita that I have neglected keeping up my writing. My last entry was on April 6.

I'll let you know when I post it on my webpage.

Thomas,

Thank you.

I visited your cathedral site and saw your build...looks really good. Hope I can come close to it. Unfortunately Tewkesbury was not on the list when my wife and I visited England two years ago. Did manage to see four or five cathedrals and they are truly amazing.

A quick update and then a break for the Memorial Day holiday for those of us in the states.

These photos show the beginning of the choir area which has a series of small buildings that surround it.

Mike, I finished my day at Tewkesbury Abbey yesterday. There are photos inside and out. CATHEDRAL QUEST: our quest to experience cathedrals in Europe.
(UK2013Day15)

Rupert, on that page I thank you for all the wonderful English models that you have designed kits for. If you had not made them, I would have missed so many beautiful cathedrals and churches.

Thomas,
Thanks for sharing the link. Enjoyed the photos, particularly the inside shots. And the narrative adds a lot--did you take notes or just remember all your travels?

Magnificent looking build. I must build a structure like this one day. Fantastic work, thanks for sharing.
