It's a magnificent structure and a magnificent model, Thomas! I look forward to seeing it in 12 days.
Incidentally, the interior of the cathedral appears to be a space both real and imagined. Don |

Thomas,
Had you not purchased the reinforced framing are the instructions clear on where reinforcement would be necessary? It seems to be a challenging build, how would you rate the quality of the kit?. I think your are building very fast, my snails pace is considerably slower. Looking good. Paul

Fred-Thank you for your encouraging words. More about the framing below.
Don -Always good to hear from you. It sounds as if you have seen the interior in person. Time is getting close and I am making some progress. I have worked on it all day today. I plan to do so also tomorrow. I have a luncheon engagement in DC on Thursdays --shoots most of that day. Friday and Sat are free. Isaac- Thanks for the additions photos. I don't recognize the first three photos as being a part of the model. Is it an attachment to the Cathedral? Thanks for the interior photo. I hope I will able to go in. Paul- The addition of the cardboard frames has been very helpful in this construction. On my first post on this thread photo #2 show the thin paper patterns for the frames. These are 21 pages of these. They are to be cut out and glued to a heavy cardboard, then cut out. The extra ones that I ordered are laser cut on 21 sheets of heavy cardboard - just punch them out. It sure saves a lot of time. Photo 5 on the first page shows the instructions with the placement of the frames in the tower. I don't think the model would be very sturdy with out the frames. I have two more GPM Polish cathedrals that I didn't order with these parts. I sent a letter today to order them and the stained glass windows and other decorations. |

It is 3:30 on Tuesday afternoon, and I just finished the right side of the Wroclaw Cathedral. Below are photos leading up to that completion. The last photo shows the frame for the left side aisles which I hope to complete before the International Paper Modelers Convention which begins this Friday.
There is also the entire East end with two towers and three chapels plus the left front tower and the entrance façade. I know I can't finish the entire cathedral by Friday but I will take it anyhow so folks can see a work in progress. Some people work on their models during the show, so I may do the same. |

That's quite an impressive right side Thomas. Once you are done, it should be another awesome cathedral in your bag. Love to see pics as you move toward completion.

It is amazing to see the amount of structure inside the cathedral! I have a copy of the Kraków cathedral, also from GPM, but there is much, much less structure!
