It is looking great, Mike! It may be a relatively old kit but I still see it as one of Schreiber’s best. It is somewhat surprising that the flying buttresses have no thickness. I envisaged putting a card sheet between the two printed faces but it might mean trouble when gluing at both extremities. So, I ended up doing exactly the same as you and, frankly, I am happy with the result

Thanks Thomas...we'll see about IPMC in October.

George--spires are coming along...quite a few to do.

Ricleite--I agree that the flying buttresses appear thin but like you...I figured that I could really mess things up if I tried to "fatten " them.

Finished the lower spires and the spires around the choir area.

Still have more to do but the next project is the main tower.

V_K...that IS a lot of spires.

I got ahead of myself a little bit. There were some spires in the choir area that needed to be done. They are noted in the first photo and then I moved on to the second stage of the main tower.

To make life more interesting...recessed windows.

And while there was a ceiling piece to hold the third stage of the tower, I added a former at the base to give the octagon more stability.

More spires to come to complete the second stage.

I built the remainder of the main tower in two stages, adding them together and then completing the main tower.

All that remains are the two smaller towers at the choir end...very close to completing Ulm minister.

Mike, you have done a magnificent job on Ulm. I am very impressed with the complexity and beautyl of your latest addition - the spire on the tower.

That really is a bunch of spires, all beautifully done. The completed tower has a vague Barad-durian look to it, all it needs is to be black and have a giant eye suspended in the top.

Thanks Thomas...I'm looking forward to your next build.

Appreciate the comment Fred.

Elliott--It does have a Barad feel about it. The main tower is massive and the whole structure has a "heavy"-looking feel to it.
