Building up further, and the base of the dome.

Nice work. I'm currently messing up the Florence Cathedral from Canon.

It's nice to see better work than I do

Thanks! And here is the dome. I am reasonably happy with the way it turned out - the cover model by Schreiber has a flatter top than the real dome, I tried to avoid this. The dome remains detachable from the model.

Admirable job on the Basilica Marco with special kudos for the dome.

Time for a little update. The basilica is really starting to take shape now.

Beautiful work. It really is an amazing structure, especially considering how old it is. How much of the complex is covered in the kit? I assume the main basilica and the plaza, right?

Yes, the kit contains both the basilica and the plaza, with many, many columns to roll.

Marco,
This is just excellent. I really like how clean and precise your cuts are and how beautifully you've put the pieces together. The kit looks beautiful with lots of extra details. Is the 1 mm cardboard backing part of the kit's instructions or your own idea?

Hope you are enjoying your stay in Ghana.

Phil

Thanks Phil! The statues on the facade and top of the colonnade are nice details, but take a fair bit of time to cut. The backing cardboard comes with the kit, it's on of Schreiber's bulkiest ones. Now here are the first preparations for the colonnade.

Great looking build you have there, but I sure don't envy your task with all of those columns yet to do.
