Finally a little update. I have been working all week on adapting the new leather texture to the larger hut roof. With all shades/color variations it took a while :-) But now it is done!
I did not put any poles on yet, so you can see the texture underneath also works on its own. Now I can start making the wall texture...

Good-looking Paleolithic dwelling. Nice texture for the hide roof. Would thatch also be likely for the period you are replicating? I am not too tightly wrapped on Paleolithic or Orcish structural materials, technology, and architectural styles.

Historically, reed/thatch roof would be also be appropriate but I guess for other climate zone. To create that texture it would take me a while, so I will focus on getting this done first. I want to make the walls different so that the whole building is not the same texture. I am thinking some sort of clay/stones walls ...
