1:12 Mid-century Room

Many years ago I built Schreiber's 1:12 scale living room model (Schreiber Biedermeier-Zimmer Doll House). I enjoyed it but was disappointed to find there were few high quality furniture models out there. In response I decided to learn how to design my own. Below are the results of learning to use Corel Draw X7 and designing a few random articles. Since this was completed last summer I have designed several 1:12 dollhouse furniture pieces. I will post photos (and downloadable kits) of those soon.

(We may need a separate forum category by the time I am done posting)

Very nice. Granted, they are older, but have you done a search for the Pellerin vintage models. Some of the furniture in there is pretty good, though the files have to be cleaned up generally. There is also some furniture in the paper theaters

Lovely idea and design. I have added two of your pictures to my collection on https://www.flickr.com/photos/zeist_bouwplaten/
Mail me if you would like me to add your real name - and more pictures are always welcome. I prefer original files. So anyone who reads this: send me your favourite model pictures!

Nicely done. Something I have wanted to do is make a card model of my house with a few open windows to see the furnishings.

Speaking of coffee tables, I think a kidney-shaped coffee table would also fit in with that style. I think my brother still has one of those goose-necked lamps with the metal cone-shaped shade (like in The Little Toaster movie), although that may be more 1960's than 1950's.

I like it! Do you plan to do any others to reflect the changing decades?

Beautifully executed. The record player, magazines, and LPs are like those of my youth, but my family's 1950s house was furnished in 1930s style. Nonetheless, I remember that style of "modern" art and furnishings from the period.

I look forward to more of your excellent work.

Don
