Hyde Octagon House 1:87

Hello!
My name is Monika. I'm interested in architecture and design models of interesting buildings. I registered for a fomum at the suggestion of my colleague Krzychu74
who showed in his section some of my projects.

Subject of my first relationship will be Hyde Octagon House, an octagonal home. In Europe, the style is rather little known, but was quite popular in the USA at the end of the IXX.
The house was built by Erastus Hyde circa 1870r. in Friendship, New York. Currently restored is located in the Genesee Country Village Museum, in the same state.

Test model is build by colleague Andrzej Ciepłuch.

Time for renders and photos.

Regards.

Monika

Nice looking rendering, Monika. I've driven right by an octagon house, but it was privately owned I believe, not part of a museum.

Dear Monika:
First welcome to the forum, There are lots of other houses and buildings at the Genesee Country Museum a living history site in upstate New York the Hyde house is just one. I for one would like to see the Opera House done as a model. Will you offer your model to us to build?
Enjoy,
Miles
From my house it is only a 2 1/2 hour drive to the museum

Hello!
Thank you very much for your kind words.
Miles Linnabery: If that would not be a problem then I would ask for those pictures. When I was doing this the model I contacted on FB with the museum, but unfortunately I did not get from them any photos of details. Your picture will be very helpful.

Regards.
Monika

Hi Monika. let me add my words of welcome.

I really like your octagon house design, and Andrzej Ciepłuch is doing an excellent job with this build.

Some years ago, Dover Publishing Company put out a book of 1/87 models of Victorian houses, including a simple model of an octagonal house similar to yours.

I hope you will forgive me for posting images of my models in your thread, but I thought you might like to see the Dover models.

Don

Crud, I think I have a pirate copy of one of those, Don. Or maybe it is just a similar model. I'll have to find it.

Monika, I think you have quite a few of us interested in this model
