Marienkirche-at Stahlart

My most recent completion is Marienkirche, a small protestant church in the outskirts of Hanover, Germany.
The designer is Chris Stahl and the plans can be found at http://papercraft.stahlhart.net . There are three options for a build: early, middle and current. This build is the early version.
Chris recently posted his build of Martin Luther’s church in Wittenberg and those plans are also on his website.
Marienkirche is a nice model with plans and instructions that are well done and very helpful. It’s definitely different from the cathedral type churches with their many spires and buttresses… a nice change of pace.

Glad to see this built. It seems that so many architectural models are either stupid simple or stupid difficult, but this one seems to be in the middle. What are your feelings on that?

V_K...I agree with you. The cathedrals like St Stephens in Vienna make a wonderful model but there is a ton of repetition among the spires, ,etc. that make for monotonous times. Also the model is very large and storage can be a problem.

This one has all the elements without the repetition and doesn't tax the available storage.

Mike...thanks...definitely worth doing. Maybe you try the current version and we'd have a comparison!
