Great build; impressive structure. Can sympathize with the glue problem. That was why I hated to see Ambroid taken off the market. It would glue anything to anything (even your fingers). I still have a couple of tubes stashed away for the really tough jobs.

I have known it was a bit of a problem to make so my kit is still in the box but after seeing the completed model it looks worth the effort.

The kit came in two versions. The first was just the kit in a well made box. The second was part of a full background to the building in a very impressive sleeve file it had posters and architects drawings and "artist's impressions" of what the building would look like from various viewpoints around the City. People were invited to an exhibition where they could give their opinions before it was built! At the time the City has a rule that no building could be more than 4 stories high.

I bought both versions from Lloyds shop the cheaper one was £5 the expensive one for £10. I'm sure the packing cost more than the kit price.

Thanks Mike. Those are great prices. I got my boxed kit on eBay. The seller kept dropping the price till it was in the low $20s and I bought it. Actually had an extra copy of Sheet 16 and 17. I also have the Building Lloyds black boxed set with 6 volumes of plates, photos, drawings, info about the building and the seventh volume being the kit which is still sealed. Bought that from a used bookstore in London. This was about the third time I actually picked up the box and finally decided to build it. You'll end up with a great looking model when you finish it.

Fred, that is a most impressive building and you did a great job as usual. I am not very familiar with that building but it looks like a very complicated build.

This one can be challenging. Suggest reading the instructions a couple of times and dry fitting. The 6 towers are basically the same. Once you do the first one the others are a lot easier. The hardest part was getting the curved towers just right. The inserts they provide are too flimsy. Glued them to thicker board stock. Also the top and base insert parts of the curved towers may need some trimming to fit before glueing, especially the curved areas.

I'd like to see it built, in person...but I don't think I want to try building it myself. lol
