They look like and have that same charm of storybook illustrations. Quite nice.

TINY GALWAY

I appreciate the responses to the first set of Tiny Ireland models. They are very easy to build but so much fun to look at. I have just finished Tiny Galway and have attached the photos below.

All five of these buildings are on Quay Street next door to each other. They are left right the Dillon which is a claddagh gold store, Wooden Heart a wooden toy store, Twice As Nice an antique store, Riodan's Home Cooked Iriish Restuarant. The last building is called Druid Lane restaurant, but the website indicates that it has gone out of business after 13 years. All of the models look exactly like the real buildings. All of these businesses have very nice websites and lots of interesting information about them.
I am looking forward to visiting all of these in the spring when we are there.

I hope to finish all of the Tiny Ireland miniatures before we go to Ireland in several months. I have just started on Bunratty Castle. The completion of Wawel Castle in Kraków Poland will be put on hold for a while.

TINY BUNRATTY

I just finished the Bunratty models which included a beautiful large model of Bunratty Castle and three colorful smaller models. The castle was built in 1425 and was a stronghold of the Kings of Thomond. There is a lot of interesting information on the Internet about Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. They host a banquet every night. The other three buildings are – Mac's Pub, the Schoolhouse, the Hazelwood house built in 1898.

As with the other two tiny Ireland kits, the colors are lovely and accurately depict the colorful structures in the various Irish cities represented. The designer and artist,Anke Eckardt of West Cork, is extremely talenteded in capturing the beauty of these buildings. While most of the buildings do not contain many parts, the Bunratty castle had a number of well-made parts. While the models do not have the tiny and tedious parts like that of Wawel castle which I'm still working on and occasionally say words that a man of the cloth shouldn't say, the tiny Ireland models make me smile when I look at them. I am looking forward to the next one tomorrow. I intend to make them all and before we go to Ireland several months from now. Please come back and look at this thread often.

Really neat. What size / scale are these?

Never mind. I reread thread and found the size. 5" for a house is pretty small.

Interesting little site Tom.

The style vaguely reminds me a bit of some of the Fiddlers Green models.....
