Hello friends,

With my next construction report, I return to the sacred architecture.
I will build the former main church Sankt Nikolai in Hamburg. From the church itself stands after war destruction only the 147 m high tower.
This was from 1874 to 1877, the tallest building in the world.

Just like the title page, the graphic of the model is kept in watercolor style. Something different than usual, but quite appealing to my taste.

There are 477 components on 22 numbered A4 sheets.

From the designer Klaus Bergner, there is now also the Hamburg City Hall in the same style.

Now I'm looking forward to my new task.

Here we go ....

I start with the base part 1, which I do not reinforce yet. Only later I will stick the church on a 3 mm Finn cardboard.

In Part 2, The choir wall I cut out the Gothic windows ...

... and stick it on 0.3 mm cardboard. In the upper area at the back I glue a 0.6 mm box, ATTENTION! Leave a gap at the creases.

Of course, one could build the bow without superiors, which would also take much less time, but I'll do it a little more refined.

Hello !

Thus, I then cut out the front gable reinforced. I reinforce the walls with 1,4 mm Finn cardboard. ATTENTION ! Leave a 5 mm wide strip at the top for the flaps of the intermediate ceiling.
Now cut out the windows again and glue them behind the windows. Then install the chancel
... and stick it all on the floor.

Hello everybody ,

Parts 2B = six times choir bars glued between the windows.

With the parts 2c, the pillars are closed at mid-height. The southern side choir is glued to the choir with the reinforced frame.
The side choir is 1 mm too short, this shortcoming I will compensate later.

It follows the northern side choir with frame. Where here the stair tower comes to.

Again, the turrets are grown later. Four buttresses ...
... for the upper part of the choir.

Very crisp build! And I agree with you about the water color texture. It gives the building the weathered appearance that you would expect to see in real life.

The missing 1.5 mm at the south side choir .................. I make up with Finn Pappe.

The roofs for the side choirs, where I strengthen the two larger areas. If the turrets had already been cultivated, there would be some difficulty in growing the roof,
but that's fine.
On the northern choir roof is still a skylight.
