GPM Bedzin Castle

I had a blast with this one. A great kit. It's got a number of problems, but they are all small, I think. I did some modifications on this one; I abandoned the aquaduct structure and the green sloping "land" in favor of carrying the stonework straight to the bottom level. I also didn't do the cut out railings (well, one, but I don't really like it). I'll be adding separate railings to simulate wood instead of the modern black metal railings the kit portrays. I had to get this one direct from GPM and the 6 week delivery had me worried, but the order arrived in perfect shape. This is the most difficult kit I've attempted since my hand operations and while there's more than too many sloppy ends and such, I'm really happy that I got this one looking as good as I did. Of course, it's a great looking kit to begin with with excellent graphics.

Chris!

How great to see you posting again! I have missed you in the Forum and am glad to see you back.

Oh. And it's a nice castle, too. Shows you still have the moxie.

Don

Size is roughly 11"W x 10"L x 8&1/2"H. Scale is 1/160. And Thanks, Don. I've missed everyone here!

Beautiful texturing on this one. The myriad of 3d battlements on the top of the round tower look like they must have been a trial. Great job!

Yes, the merlons on the tower are the hardest part of the whole kit, I think. But worth the effort for the added detail. The texture on this one is really wonderful and convincing! The instructions leave a little to be desired and there are some confusing bits, like three different unrelated parts, all with the same number and a completely missing part, etc. But a great kit nonetheless and I really did enjoy it all, even the tower top!

Thanks for the info on the size. Appreciated.

A future one maybe for me, as it is a small scale.
