La Sagrada Familia Barcelona

I would like to show the last model I just finished yesterday.
It is the La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. I visited it several times and was happy to find out that Canon offers a downloadable version.
I asked a copy shop to print it out half the scale what makes the size a bit more impressive. I like it a lot:

Nicely done. How long did it take you to build it?

It took more than a year. Sometimes when I finished a very complicated part I switched to another kit. At the end I was really happy to glue all parts together on the baseplate.

I'm impressed!

That's a great quite a building!

Now you should try it at twice the scale - It takes up a lot less space ;-)

Cheers
Mike

I'm impressed too! A labour of love. I think Gaudi would have liked that.

Congratulations on a beautiful job. Gaudi would be proud. About 10 years ago, I built the Domus model, and then had to see it in person. We visited Sagrada Familia in 2009. It is a magnificent church with so much symbolism. At the time they said it would be finished in 20 years (2029). I just read that they are now saying 2026. I hope I can now see it finished. I will only be 88 in 8 years instead of 91 which I doubt I would be able to make the trip.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful model with us. I hope that you will be around as well as those reading this thread to see it finished.

Sagrada finishing date

Hello Thomas,
thank you for your friendly comment. Fortunately I will be 66 when the Sagrada should be finished.
On the 3rd of march I will leave for six days in Barcelona. I will ask for the actual finishing date and inform you about it.
Klaus

P.S.: very impressive website of yours
