@ Kevin - I guess that striking and solid colors are the norm on industrial buildings. Colors serve a purpose but they can be pleasing, too

The buildings themselves are straightforward to assemble. They include a detachable section to see the inside.

As usual in this kit, the modeler has the choice between easy (flat) and 3D for the chimneys. I find the extra work on the 3D version worthwhile.

The ducts inside the buildings may be seen as a serious attempt to drive me crazy! The fact is that they fit well. The size differences between inner and outer walls are well tuned. There is no need to force the detachable parts into their places but the gaps are negligible.

As stated very clearly in the instructions, the base must be reinforced with something stiffer and stronger than card. I opted for a varnished wooden base. The base sheet provided in the kit was slightly trimmed and it is still huge. Some buildings got closer to the edges but there is no big difference. I confess to do the same on many kits

That base is huge - I hope you have a home for the model where it is not going to get in the way, and be safe, and be seen.

I was about to start my kit when I pulled out the base. It was so big, I hastily put the kit away (much as I wanted to do it) as I just did not know where to put it when finished.

Miles too big for a cupboard even!

@ Kevin - before starting, I verified that a compartment below the aircraft showcase was big enough to hold the model, but only if the base was set at an angle, as there is insufficient depth. It is well protected from dust and sunlight and, being at an angle actually makes it easier to show the movable parts without getting it out of the compartment.

Gluing all the buildings to the base was straightforward and quick. By looking carefully at the pictures, you can see that some gaps remain. Nothing serious and I am most probably to blame.
