It was a joke Elliott, as Lex said, one of the best works of cuts that are seen, if I had I would be mending everywhere with so many delicate cuts. It will look spectacular all the empty tower but I was wondering the same, I do not know Will it deform?

Well, actually UHU's prototype looks great. Quite solid and without deformation
as can be seen in this two photos of his finished prototype:

So, if he got it right, I am confident there are good possibilities.

I believe it is actually a good thing to have it all hollowed out.
The waste material must be around 80-90%. Which means we are actually taking out that much weight!!
If it were solid cardstock the structure would be much heavier and that would be a serious problem.

Besides, the truss is reinforced from behind with actual paper beam elements that will help keep the shape.

Seems like the key to a successful build of this structure is is in the gluing.

What I'm really worried about is how sturdy the base turns to be.
If I see it too flimsy I may reinforce it somehow.

Yeah... all the cutting is not hard task.
What may be really maddening is I have to color the edges of all those cuts (and the ones still to be made)!!!!

Coloring the edges.
Too bad all of the solid red parts could not be printed on red cardstock.
Have the outline with the weathering and details but leave off the color.

I think lattice structures like this, also including Tour Eiffel, deserve such treatment and no less. It would look incredibly bad with a solid sheet of paper.

I imagine what it must be to color all that, it seems to never end, the good, it is a single color. It looks magnificent that tower, a beautiful architectural structure.

Yes, the detail is impressive. That's what makes it attractive to build.
You scaled it! It's more than 600 steps isn't it?




Today: she's standing on all four legs.




The square frame at the bottom is temporary. It will be kept for some time
to help the structure to stand and to avoid deformation of the sides because
it will have to withstand a lot of manipulation in the following stages.

When the kit's base is ready I will cut the frame and install the tower in its proper base.
