The base was finished. UHU's design of the base is well-thought, and is assembled easily. However, it seems to me it is unstable, and not so sturdy. The base can (and will) sag and deform over time. So that's why I heavily reinforced the innards. The columns received a strengthening treatment by means of an accordion-shaped internal structure that helps them to keep shape and support more weight. The lower angles are reinforced with 2,5 mm cardboard. On the inside, the bottom of the pit, and the walls were reinforced too. In this photo, on the left. But the base now weights more than 1Lb, and is very strong. It will stand strong handling, and its walls won't deform at all. Rear view of the finished base: For those interested: here's a close-up of the inner side of my modified slope. I don't mind showing my mistakes, and I usually don't attempt to hide them. Here are two close-ups of the mos notorious mistakes I made: I should have reinforced the pavement too. Not only the walls There's noticeable warping that can not be corrected at this stage. In any case, most probably it will be hidden behind the building and tower once finished. And even before this warping occurred, I was already thinking on putting a couple of vehicles there. So not much of a problem after all. But if you plan to build this same kit in the future, take care and consider reinforcing it. The completed base with internal columns and shoes for the legs required a total of 460 cuts. Not counting the reinforcement pieces I added. Thanks for reading.

No, I have not abandoned this project.
It's been lack of proper modeling time. But I'm back. Now... the inside of the legs are a bit tedious. Several triangular supports need to be cut, fitted and glued. Depending on how precise you were assembling the outside of the legs and the internal squared support that joins them, you'll need to trim the triangular pieces a bit (or much, or nothing at all). After they're in place, the platform of the first "level" can be assembled. UHU's original instructions call for the "floor" of this level to be glued to the bigger structure, and then glue the "walls". I found it was much better to assemble floor and walls before, as in the following photo, and when dry then proceed to glue the whole assembly to the tower. After that the delicate inner truss of the legs can be cut and glued in place. How delicate is it? Well... We have cuts of less than 1mm. And remember I upscaled this by 25% to get 1:400 instead of the original 1:500. It took me about 15 minutes "per leg" only to carefully glue each internal truss. Which means I spend about 1 hour gluing all the 4 internal trusses. Patience and precision are important. Accuracy can not be hurried. (I didn't even timed how much I spent cutting). So, here's where we're at: I'm finding probably the most difficult part of this project is learning how to take good photos of it. The structure is difficult to appreciate. Specially when your own eyes start blurring with all those red angled lines criss-crossing in 3D. At the present point, there have been 4718 cuts made including what has been done to the tower and the base. Thanks for reading, and until the next time.
